The finding, in one line
BetterWaves has a genuine app: AI-guided emotion regulation, breathing, affirmations, on iPhone, Mac and Vision. But it launched two months ago with no website, no reviews, and no presence in the places people now ask for app recommendations. When someone asks an assistant for an app to calm anxiety, BetterWaves does not come up. That is normal for a new app, and it is the fastest kind of gap to start closing.
The proof
We ran the questions a stressed person actually types when looking for an app like BetterWaves, across web search and the assistant-cited guides, and recorded which apps were recommended.
Relative prominence across web search and the app-recommendation guides assistants cite, September 2026. More than a dozen apps were named across the nine questions. BetterWaves was named in none, and direct searches for the app and its developer return nothing about it.
Three problems
None of these is about the quality of the app. They are about whether the web and the assistants have anything to find, understand, and recommend.
BetterWaves has no marketing site. The only web assets are the App Store page and a privacy note on Notion. Assistants build app recommendations from articles, reviews and forums, and you appear in none of them.
The name collides with surf-coaching and binaural-beat apps (betterwave.org, BrainWaves, GoodWaves, MindWaves). Nothing on the record ties the name to emotion regulation, so a model has no reason to connect it to you.
The 2026 roundups of AI mental-health and emotion apps name Wysa, Woebot, Ash, Youper, Headspace, Liven and more. These are what assistants quote. BetterWaves is on none of them.
Where you stand
Every item here is a first-time build, not a repair. A new app has no footprint by default. The good news is that the cheapest, fastest moves, a real site, a handful of reviews, one or two review-site placements, and a clear name signal, are exactly the ones assistants weight most for app recommendations.
One honest note. For a two-month-old app, direct traffic from AI is not the first prize. The first prize is existing at all in the places people and assistants look: a site, reviews, a few list placements, a clear name. Get those, and the recommendations follow, pre-qualified, from people already asking for exactly what you built.
